Dampak Pelemahan Rupiah Terhadap Stabilitas Perbankan dan Perekonomian Indonesia

Abstract

The depreciation of the Indonesian Rupiah against the US Dollar in 2025 has become a major concern in the national economy. The exchange rate, which reached Rp16,640 per USD, reflects significant pressure on Indonesia’s macroeconomic stability. This situation has triggered various impacts, including increased import costs, weaker purchasing power, and rising risks in the banking sector. This study aims to analyze the effects of Rupiah depreciation on banking stability and evaluate the fiscal and monetary policy responses taken throughout the year. The research relies on secondary data from credible sources such as Bank Indonesia, the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), and the Ministry of Finance. Key indicators include Bank Indonesia’s interest rate (BI-Rate) held at 5.75%, the Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio at 2.18%, and a strong Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) of 24.86%. The findings indicate that, while the Indonesian banking sector remains fundamentally stable, there are concerns about liquidity and credit risks. Monetary policy, including currency market interventions and interest rate decisions, has helped maintain short-term stability. Meanwhile, fiscal policy has focused on supporting household consumption through social spending and subsidies. The study concludes that synchronizing fiscal and monetary strategies is crucial to maintain economic resilience amid global uncertainties.
