Orphanage children represent a vulnerable group requiring support in education, character development, and economic independence. Limited family support and unstable economic conditions often hinder their ability to develop life skills. Therefore, empowerment programs focusing on capacity building and productive skills are needed. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of entrepreneurship training based on local potential in improving motivation, skills, and independent character among orphanage children. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using Participatory Action Research. The program was conducted at Rumah Yatim Abi Dzar Al-Ghifari in Sleman, with data collected through observation, interviews, group discussions, and documentation. The results indicate that practice-based training enhances entrepreneurial motivation, production skills, and character values such as discipline, responsibility, teamwork, and self-confidence. Practical learning approaches are more effective than theoretical methods. This program has strong potential as a sustainable empowerment strategy through continuous mentoring and institutional collaboration.
