Edukasi Pencegahan Pernikahan Dini bagi Remaja sebagai Upaya Perlindungan Hak Anak dan Peningkatan Kualitas Generasi Muda

Abstract

Early marriage remains a serious social problem in Indonesia, particularly among school-aged adolescents. Limited knowledge, environmental influences, and social and economic pressures are major factors contributing to marriage at an age that is not yet mentally, physically, and socially mature. This community service activity aims to increase students’ understanding and awareness of the risks and impacts of early marriage among students of SMA Negeri 14 Samarinda from health, psychological, social, and educational perspectives. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through interactive educational socialization activities, including lectures, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions, as well as an evaluation of students’ understanding using a Quizizz-based assessment. The results show high student enthusiasm and an improvement in students’ understanding of the concept and impacts of early marriage, with a class accuracy rate of 87%. However, students’ understanding of the underlying causes of early marriage remains relatively limited, indicating the need for more in-depth and continuous educational efforts. This activity contributes positively to fostering adolescents’ critical awareness in planning their future and encouraging the postponement of marriage until adequate readiness is achieved. Therefore, school-based early marriage prevention socialization is a relevant preventive strategy to reduce the prevalence of early marriage among adolescents.
