Pengabdian Masyarakat Berbasis Edukasi Lingkungan melalui Manajemen Konservasi Berbasis Komunitas dalam Pengelolaan Jalur Pendakian Gunung Pulosari

Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) was initiated due to the importance of environmental education to address various problems such as deforestation, waste, and the decline in animal populations on the Mount Pulosari Hiking Trail, Pandeglang, Banten. The purpose of this activity is to increase awareness and skills in carrying out conservation for basecamp managers, Pokdarwis, and youth of Kaduengang Village. The method used is Community-Based Research (CBR), which involves participants in conducting joint surveys and observing animals intensively for one full day on May 25, 2024. The results of the activity found various types of land animals such as snails, millipedes, sonari worms, caterpillars, leeches, wild boars, and centipedes in the hiking area. This activity was analyzed in accordance with the Assets-Based Community Development (ABCD) Theory by Edgar S. Cahn, which successfully strengthened local assets, and concluded with a workshop on concrete action planning such as the preparation of a climber's code of ethics, which is a form of real implementation of effective conservation education.
